The former candidate of Movimiento Ciudadano in San Nicolás, Alejandra Morales, has filed a lawsuit against her linking to a process for alleged political gender-based violence. Morales Mariscal claims that institutions such as the Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary are being used by the PRI-PAN to carry out a political persecution against her, arguing that she poses a threat to the PAN elite in San Nicolás in view of 2027.
In her own words, Alejandra Morales stated: "The lawsuit aims to challenge the linking to a process so that the federal authority can review the case, and if a favorable ruling is received, annul and conclude the process. I was linked without solid evidence, only based on the statement of the alleged victim, which shows the political persecution I am facing."
Morales Mariscal received support from prominent female figures of Movimiento Ciudadano, including Mariana Rodríguez, Ivonne Ortega, and Anayeli Muñoz Moreno, among other local and federal legislators. The former candidate emphasized her determination by stating, "After so much getting to know me, it seems they will not stop trying; I will not give up."
When being pointed out from local spheres, Morales explained that she decided to go to the Federal Judiciary in search of justice, trusting in its impartiality. She highlighted the importance of continuing to fight and denounce acts of corruption by certain political groups, reiterating her refusal to allow those involved in such acts to remain in power.
Alejandra Morales' legal team and Movimiento Ciudadano detailed that the lawsuit aims to dissociate her from the current process, which obliges her to comply with precautionary measures such as appearing monthly before a judge and refraining from contacting or referring to the alleged victim, the PAN member Lily Olivares. The former candidate called for vigilance ahead of the upcoming elections in 2027 in San Nicolás.
"I am here because I believe in justice, in truth... they took advantage of the excuse of gender violence; now they want to fabricate a crime against me. The PAN and Zeferino are afraid of the change I represent, of the fear that I will be more powerful than their old and corrupt machinery," emphasized Morales. She concluded by reiterating her innocence and criticizing those who, according to her, use unfounded arguments to try to halt her path.
